Women Empowerment and Livelihood Improvement (WELI)
About the project
The WELI project, supported by Unraggiodiluce unlos (FRL), was implemented between June 2009 and December 2016 in Patarasi Rural Municipality. This project placed women at the center of development by promoting gender equality, reproductive health, and economic empowerment. Women were provided with training in agriculture production, marketing, and cooperative management, enabling them to enhance both household food security and income. The project also integrated WASH (Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene) interventions, improving community health alongside economic gains. By strengthening women’s capacities in leadership and livelihoods, WELI contributed significantly to breaking gender barriers and building more inclusive rural societies in Jumla.
