In partnership with UNDP, the AWABE project focuses on empowering women in Patarashi Rural Municipality by promoting agroforestry-based enterprises. Implemented from August to December 2022, this short-term but impactful initiative developed value chains for high-value crops and supported women entrepreneurs in agroforestry businesses. The project strengthened women’s capacities in production, processing, and marketing while encouraging their active participation in economic decision-making. By linking women producers with markets and cooperatives, AWABE helped break socio-economic barriers and created sustainable income opportunities. This initiative reflects 4S/Jumla’s commitment to “leave no one behind” by ensuring gender equality and economic inclusiveness in rural development.
